• Renting a canoe to explore around Lake Louise is well worth it to see the views from all angles. The canoes can be rented from the Fairmont’s boathouse on the west-shore of the lake.

We purchased the photos that the Fairmont staff had taken of us, and they made a great souvenir for each of us.

*The experience operates depending on the weather and is opened seasonally, from late-may/early-June until Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

  • Located about 2.5 miles from the Banff- Jasper Park Boundary, a great short hike to do on your way to Jasper from Banff.

The Parker Ridge Trail is a little over 3 miles, and can be a bit steep with a few switchbacks, but the view of the Saskatchewan Glacier at the end is worth it.

*Please be aware that this hike can become quite muddy if the area has had recent rain/ snow.

Location: Improvement District No. 9, AB T0L, Canada (Along the Icefields Parkway).

  • One of my favorite hikes in Banff. The Lake Agnes Tea House is approximately located 3 miles from Lake Louise with 1,400ft elevation gain.

The trail begins on the shore of Lake Louise and ends at the beautiful Lake Agnes Tea House that offers homemade deserts and beverages. A very special family-run spot that hikes in all of their produce everyday. A great spot to rest before heading back down.

  • An insanely scenic 144 mile drive. The Icefields Parkway Drive runs north-south between Lake Louise, Alberta and Jasper, Alberta.

Please make sure to start the route with a full tank of gas. Also I would recommend to pack a lunch and stop by one of the many scenic lakes for a roadside lunch.

  • A glacier-fed lake named after a renown trail guide, Bill Peyto.

Peyto Lake’s parking lot is about 0.6miles from the viewing deck. I would recommend arriving early to secure parking and wearing proper footwear because the hike can be muddy and steep. However, the view is worth it!

  • Another glacier-fed lake that has the classic turquoise waters that makes visiting Banff so special. Moraine Lake’s back-drop of the Valley of the Ten Peaks makes it extra beautiful.

The parking lot is small, and we arrived right before sunrise which was right before the parking lot became full. Once the lot becomes full, visitors are shuttled in from a off-site parking lot.

  • A great place to pick up a souvenir in Banff’s downtown. Evoolution’s friendly staff leads you through their vast selection of olive oils, vinegars, and salts.
