Tips
-
Porto is easily explored by foot. Be aware it is quite hilly- pack comfortable shoes!
-
The best time to visit Porto is during the spring (April-June) and fall (September-November) when the weather is mild. The summer months (July-August) can be hot and crowded, while the winter months (December-March) can be rainy and chilly.
We did visit during early March and came prepared with umbrellas! We had a wonderful time.

When packing for a trip to Porto, it is important to bring comfortable walking shoes, as the city is quite hilly and walking is the best way to explore it. Be sure to also pack light layers as the weather can be unpredictable, a rain jacket or umbrella as Porto can receive a fair amount of rainfall.
Also, beware: pickpockets are common to occur in a few of the squares.
